National Merit Semifinalist 2025 Announcement. About 16,000 high school students in the graduating class of 2025 — less than 1 percent of u.s. Becoming a national merit semifinalist is the first step toward potentially earning a national merit scholarship.

The last date for submission of applications by the selected meritorious students on the national scholarship portal (nsp) for the national means cum merit. Three types of national merit scholarships will be offered in the spring of 2025.
